Scratching The Surface | VHILS

Eliana TomazComment
A few months ago I was researching online a few Street Artists and bumped into Alexandre Farto (aka Vhils) work. Fell in love with it straight away. I'm not sure if it's the scale, the façade in decadence or the subtleness of his creations, but something strong yet simple about it dragged totally my attention.

A couple of weeks, maybe a month later I went for dinner with a friend, and because women has always loads to talk about, my friend and I continue to chat, after hours in a restaurant, next to our cars. Suddenly I look up and see that man's face, the one I saw on my computer screen but now LIVE! I stopped listen to Isabel and smiled. Instead of walking towards the wall, I walked away from it to focus that amazing portrait craved on what once was an indoor wall. A momentum of happiness, discover, a conquest I believe.

I am so proud of having his work in my city. I am so proud he is Portuguese. And I am so proud I found it.
